Yoga Unify YU QP2
Avalon’s yoga journey began as a child upon visiting The Self Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades with her parents. To Avalon this sunken garden sanctuary created by the late Yoga Master Paramahansa Yogananda in the early 1950s, felt like an enchanted forest brimming with magical energies and unlimited possibilities. This feeling stuck with Avalon into her adult life and eventually pushed her to pursue membership in The Self Realization Fellowship, allowing her to gain a deeper understanding of pranayama (breathwork) and devotional yoga.
Years later she took up a physical asana practice via the rigorous practice of Ashtanga Yoga and she learned quickly that the symbiotic linking of breath and movement was a powerful healing mechanism which allowed her to process and work through previous physical, mental and spiritual trauma in an unparalleled fashion. Experiencing the healing benefits of this practice deeply empowered Avalon and inspired her to finally pursue Yoga Teacher Training.
In 2019 after years of dedicated practice Avalon obtained her Yoga Teacher’s Certification through UCLA’s Yoga Leadership Program, while also pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in The Study of Religion and Philosophy at UCLA.
Avalon specializes in dynamic vinyasa yoga, a truly healing and empowering modality passed down from her mentor Dr. Du Soleil. She also has training in trauma informed yoga, pranayama and the Ashtanga Primary Series.
Avalon’s daily practice is a devotional and spontaneous blend of Ashtanga and Dynamic Vinyasa Yoga which ebbs and flows with the ever changing tides of her life.
“Yoga is a practice, not a performance”
