Yoga for Trauma Recovery
Yoga for Trauma Recovery
Join Us For This Special Event
Welcome to our Trauma Recovery yoga class, a gentle and compassionate approach to healing and resilience. This class is specifically designed to create a safe space for individuals who have experienced trauma, providing a supportive environment for your unique healing journey. As you enter the studio, you'll notice a calming and welcoming atmosphere that has been intentionally created with your comfort in mind. Our trauma-informed yoga instructor is trained to understand the potential triggers and sensitivities that may arise during the practice. They will guide you through a sequence of gentle movements, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices that prioritize safety, choice, and empowerment. Trauma-sensitive yoga focuses on creating a sense of safety, choice, and empowerment. You are invited to explore sensations, emotions, and thoughts that arise during the practice, while always maintaining a gentle and compassionate approach. The emphasis is on cultivating self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-compassion as key components of the healing process. Throughout the class, you will be encouraged to connect with your breath, as it serves as an anchor to the present moment. Mindful breathing exercises help regulate the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and promote a sense of calm and safety within your body. The yoga poses in this class are chosen specifically to promote a feeling of grounding, stability, and connection with your physical body. Gentle stretches, supported postures, and slow movements provide an opportunity to release tension and emotions, build strength, and cultivate a sense of safety in your own skin. In our Trauma Recovery yoga class, consent and choice are honored at all times. You are always invited to modify, adapt, or opt-out of any posture or practice that doesn't feel right for you. Your comfort and well-being are our top priority. We honor the courage it takes to embark on this journey of healing. Together, we create a space where you can explore, heal, and reclaim your strength and well-being. Join us in this trauma-informed yoga class, where compassion, choice, and empowerment are at the heart of the practice. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class.
