Therapeutic Yoga
That Heals From the Inside Out

At The Mind-Body Connection, we do yoga differently.
Our Therapeutic Yoga classes are rooted in the Viniyoga tradition, a gentle, breath-centered approach that adapts to the individual, not the other way around. Here, the goal isn’t to master a pose, but to feel whole again.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, back pain, depression, or simply haven’t found what you were hoping for in other healing methods, this is where transformation begins.
Every class is designed and led by instructors trained in therapeutic yoga to help you move safely, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself.
This isn’t about the “yoga body.” It’s about your body, as it is, today.
Why Therapeutic Yoga Is Different
Most yoga classes focus on form: what the posture looks like from the outside.
Therapeutic Yoga focuses on function. Every movement, every breath, every sequence is designed to support a specific need in your body, breath , mind, and emotions.
This approach, rooted in the Viniyoga tradition, understands that no two bodies or life experiences are the same. Instead of forcing you into a shape, we adapt yoga to fit you.
In our classes, you’ll find:
-
Small group sizes for personal attention and safety.
-
Gentle, breath-centered movement that builds awareness and restores mobility.
-
Trauma-informed instruction that respects your boundaries and pace.
-
Real-life application. Each class is designed to help you move, breathe, and live with more ease.
This is yoga that listens to you. Yoga that meets you exactly where you are. Yoga that heals from the inside out.

We don’t teach poses.
We teach people.
All of our instructors are trained under the guidance of Kevala, a C-IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist specializing in Viniyoga-based healing.
Function Over Form -
Yoga With Intention
At The Mind-Body Connection, you’ll never hear, “Go deeper,” or “Push harder.”
Here, we honor how your body feels, not how it looks.
Therapeutic Yoga is based on the principle of function over form: the purpose of a posture is to support your body’s healing, not to perfect a shape.
That means every movement can be modified, every sequence can be adjusted, and every breath can be adapted to your comfort level.
This practice welcomes you exactly as you are:
-
Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or feeling anxious and overwhelmed.
-
Whether you’re flexible or stiff, strong or tired, young or aging gracefully.
-
Whether you’ve practiced yoga for years or are stepping onto the mat for the first time.
There’s no such thing as the “yoga body” here.
There’s just your body: wise, capable, and ready to heal when given the right tools.
Our instructors meet you with compassion, curiosity, and respect for your journey. You’ll move safely, breathe deeply, and begin to rebuild trust with your body, one mindful movement at a time.

Transformational Healing for Body and Mind
Healing is more than feeling better, it’s learning to move, breathe, and live differently.
In Therapeutic Yoga, change doesn’t come from effort or intensity. It comes from awareness. As the breath and body begin to move in harmony, the nervous system resets, tension unwinds, and a deeper sense of ease returns.
Physical Transformation:
Relieve Pain, Restore Balance
Many students come to us after trying everything — physical therapy, chiropractic care, medications, but still feeling stuck in pain or limitation.
Therapeutic Yoga helps retrain your body to move safely and efficiently.
Each sequence strengthens what’s weak, releases what’s tight, and restores your body’s natural rhythm.
Our Viniyoga-based approach is gentle, yet deeply effective for:
-
Back and neck pain
-
Sciatica and mobility issues
-
Postural imbalances
-
Chronic tension and fatigue
Over time, students notice greater stability, freedom of movement, and confidence in their bodies, both on and off the mat.
Emotional & Mental Transformation:
Calm, Clarity, Confidence
Anxiety, depression, and emotional exhaustion don’t just live in the mind, they are stored in the body and govern our behaviors.
Through slow, mindful movement and breathwork, Therapeutic Yoga helps regulate the nervous system and quiet racing thoughts. Students often describe a sense of calm they haven’t felt in years.
These classes teach you how to access peace on your own not just during practice, but in everyday life.
You’ll learn to:
-
Reconnect with your breath to ease anxiety
-
Feel grounded and centered even during stress
-
Restore energy and focus
-
Build emotional resilience and self-trust
As awareness deepens, healing becomes more than recovery, it becomes trasformation of your entire system: body, breath, mind, emotions, perception and personality.
When
the
body
feels
safe,
the
mind
begins
to
heal.
Rooted in the Viniyoga Tradition

T. Krishnamacharya the Father of Modern Yoga.
What makes our approach truly unique is that it’s rooted in the Viniyoga tradition, a lineage founded by T. Krishnamacharya and refined by his son T.K.V. Desikachar, one of the most respected teachers of therapeutic yoga in the modern era.
The word Viniyoga means “application.” It’s the practice of adapting yoga to the individual, rather than fitting the individual into yoga. Every breath, movement, and sequence serves a specific purpose to meet you where you are: physically, mentally, and emotionally.
This method forms the foundation of yoga therapy as it’s recognized today. It emphasizes:
-
Breath-centered movement to regulate the nervous system
-
Personalized adaptation for different bodies, ages, and conditions
-
Intelligent sequencing that builds stability before flexibility
-
Integration of philosophy and mindfulness for lasting change
All of our teachers are trained under the guidance of Kevala, a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with advanced expertise in Viniyoga and yoga for healing. Together, we carry forward this lineage with compassion, precision, and heart.
When yoga is applied with this level of care and understanding, it becomes far more than exercise . It becomes a pathway to balance, resilience, and self-discovery.
Our Therapeutic Yoga Classes
Our Therapeutic Yoga classes are designed for real people with real lives, not for performance, but for healing.
Each class lasts one hour and blends mindful movement, breath awareness, and focused relaxation. You’ll learn how to move in ways that reduce pain, calm your mind, and restore natural balance.
Every instructor at The Mind-Body Connection is trained under the guidance of our founder and Certified Yoga Therapist, Kevala (C-IAYT), ensuring a consistent, safe, and therapeutic experience in every session.

Gentle Yoga
Therapeutic Yoga often becomes the bridge between other healing modalities and deeper transformation. Many students start here and later choose to go deeper through our Healing Foundations program - a powerful next step that integrates therapeutic yoga, breathwork, and mindset coaching to create long-term transformation.
This is your space to slow down, reconnect, and begin again — safely, gently, and effectively.
What Our Students Experience
Healing is not a straight line — but it becomes possible when you feel supported, understood, and guided with care.
Our students come to Therapeutic Yoga looking for relief. What they discover is transformation.
With consistent practice, many experience:
-
Relief from chronic pain and greater freedom of movement
-
A calmer mind and fewer anxious thoughts
-
Emotional balance and improved mood
-
Better sleep and energy throughout the day
-
Renewed confidence and trust in their body’s ability to heal
But beyond the physical and emotional benefits, something deeper happens, a shift in how you relate to yourself.
Students often describe feeling “at home” again in their own body. That sense of peace, strength, and clarity naturally begins to ripple out into every area of life: relationships, work, and daily choices.
This is the essence of yoga therapy: not just relief, but renewal.
